White folks were told to integrate their schools but rather than do that, they opted to simply close schools. That meant many white children went without an education altogether but that was preferable to sitting next to Black children. Perhaps civil rights leaders should have taken the hint and opted for another strategy.

Operation Breadbasket was a program that showed great promise for Black economics. Jesse Jackson did amazing things through the program in Chicago, which Dr. King wanted replicated nationally, but it never happened.

There is no historical parallel for the task Black people in America faced: rising up from the shackles of slavery while living under the gun of their opressors as a minority. Colonizers in other places in the world generally left, for the most part, but Black people in America had a different road to travel and we need to appreciate that. 

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is regarded as a saintly, inerrant figure. But is his elevation artificial? The white press and broader white validation have a lot to do with his place in history and in the American psyche. Ultimately, Dr. King's elevation is a win for white people.

But the Black church, for all the good it has done, is not a prophetic voice one need respect anymore. The white church has no moral authority to critique it, but I do.

We have been duped into believing that Black progress doesn't require sacrifice and yes, suffering. This fantasy. Every inch of Black progress has been through pain and sacrifice and unless we cope with that today, our progress is effectively over.

Black businesses have always been targets of terror. Black people had few defenses for it earlier and as terror has evolved, Black leaders and organizations have failed to keep up with it.
